How do I setup shipping?

Our shipping settings allow you to charge a shipping cost on all your orders.  You can use flat-rate shipping or rated shipping (live shipping quotes/costs) from USPS, UPS, FedEx or CanadaPost.

There are 3 steps to setting up shipping:

  1. Setup shipping costs using your prefered shipping structure (flat-rate or rated).
  2. Configure shipping and fulfillment settings.
  3. Setup all your physical products to be "shippable", and assign each product a weight.

Step 1: Setup Shipping Costs

To modify your account's shipping settings, go to Settings & Admin > Shipping.

Flat Rate Shipping

Flat rate shipping allows you to charge a flat shipping cost that is dependant on the total value of their order.  For example:

  • When the order total is under $75, Standard Shipping is $10
  • When the order is over $75, Standard Shipping is FREE

The spirit of flat rate shipping is to incentivize your customers/donors to spend more money in order to get a discount on their order.  However, you do not have to use it this way.

You can add multiple shipping methods (for example: Standard, Express, Next-Day, In-Store Pick-up) and assign different rates for each method.  You can also assign different rates depending on the shipping address of the customer/donor.  All these settings can be managed from Settings & Admin > Shipping, select Flat Rate Shipping, then hit the Change Rates button.

Rated Shipping

You can display live shipping rates/quotes from your prefered shipper: UPS, USPS, FedEx or CanadaPost.  This is done using the customer/donor's shipping address, your fulfillment address and the total weight of the products in the cart.  Rated shipping will not work correctly if you have not assigned a weight to all your products.

To setup rated shipping, hit Settings & Admin > Shipping and select Rated Shipping.  Be sure to select the shippers whose rates you want to display on your checkout screen.

Special Setup: FedEx
Contact Support in order to setup FedEx shipping.

Advanced Settings: USPS
You can use the advanced USPS settings panel on the shipping settings screen to filter the domestic and international shipping options displayed to the end customer/donor.

Step 2: Shipping & Fulfillment Settings

Use the shipping settings screen with inline help to complete your shipping settings including your fulfillment address (rated shipping only), your packing slip header, and whether or not you want to charge tax on shipping.

Step 3: Product Setup

Both flat-rate and rated shipping methods require that you properly configure each and every shippable product in your shop.  For each product variant you've created, you must identify that it requires shipping.  Additionally, if you are using Rated Shipping (live quotes), you'll need to assign a weight to each product variant.  To do this, find each product you want to be shippable, click the Stock & Price tab, and manage the Requires Shipping and Weight settings.

You are ready to start charging shipping.
