Child Profiles

A child's profile represents their record in your database.  This is typically configured once and never changes.  This includes data like their photo, their name, birthday, gender, and other custom fields you may have configured like village, program, etc.

A profile can be modified at anytime by anyone on your staff - locally or around the world - based on permissions you define.

To update a profile:

  1. Use the Sponsorships link in the menu to list all your children.
  2. Use the search and filters to find the child you need to update, or click 'Add' to add a new record.
  3. Follow the onscreen prompts and then hit save.

Child Timelines

Sponsorship timelines allow you to document the journey of the individuals in your sponsorship program. Each individual has a timeline where you can post status updates, images and other files.

Adding Timeline Posts

  1. Find the individual sponsorship record you want to add a timeline post for and open their profile in GiveCloud.
  2. Click on the Timeline tab.
  3. Click 'Add an Update'
  4. Use the fields to add the appropriate information to the post. Tag is just a way of organizing and visual differentiating your updates in the timeline. The date is the date the update or event took place and can be any date you choose. The timeline will be sorted by this date.
  5. Click Save.

Editing or Delete a Timeline Post

  1. Find the individual sponsorship record you want to add a timeline post for and open their profile in GiveCloud.
  2. Click on the Timeline tab.
  3. Click the Edit button in the top right corner of the post you want to edit or delete.
  4. To delete, click the delete button in the bottom left corner of the post window. To edit, make your changes in the fields provided and click save.

To Add Images and Files to a Timeline Post

When editing or creating a timeline, use the 'Attachments' link to attach files to your post. You can also drag and drop files from your desktop into the post window.

Once complete, you'll see the new files attached to the timeline post.
